NEXT CHAPTER: Financial Independence
Our flagship four-week program for women who have experienced domestic and family violence.
OUR POST DFV FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE PROGRAM
You were never bad with money.
You were just never given the chance or the tools.
Let’s change that.
NEXT CHAPTER is a free, four-workshop financial independence program created by Somewhere To Go Foundation for women rebuilding their lives after domestic and family violence.
Presented in collaboration with Tegan Streeter from Fenwick Collective and other local business leaders, NEXT CHAPTER is designed to help you build the knowledge, skills and confidence to take control of your financial future.
Across four practical, two-hour workshops, we'll explore:
Everyday Budgeting: Creating a realistic budget that works for your life, with a practical template to take home.
Money Management: Understanding bills, banking and everyday financial tools to help you stay on top of your money.
Saving & Goal Setting: Building savings, setting achievable financial goals and planning for what's next.
Debt & Credit: Understanding debt, credit scores and ways to keep your money safe.
You don't need any financial knowledge or experience to participate. We'll work through everything in plain English, in a welcoming and supportive environment where questions are encouraged.
Places are limited to 15 women for our first cohort.
This program is fully funded through the Empowering Queensland Women grant program, Queensland Government.
Child minding available
Nobody misses out because they have no one to watch their children. They are always welcome.
Dinner for your children
So that after the evening session you can get them straight home to bed, removing barriers for you to gain education.
Something to eat
Morning Tea during the day and supper at night. We know learning can be hard on an empty stomach.
NEXT CHAPTER is for you if…
You have left and everyone thinks the hard part is over. You are rebuilding on your own. You are tired of explaining yourself. You want to be around women who already understand.
