Yes. Somewhere To Go Foundation is a registered Australian charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible in Australia and all eligible donors will receive a receipt for tax purposes. Your generosity directly supports women and children as they rebuild safe, healthy lives after domestic and family violence.
Who We Support
-
Our Community Centre is for women and children who have experienced domestic and family violence and are in the post-crisis stage of their journey.
We exist for the space between leaving and healing, when the immediate danger has passed but the real work of rebuilding begins. This is often the stage where support drops away, yet needs remain high.
We support women and children as they stabilise, rebuild confidence, access guidance and begin healing together. Our centre offers community connection, practical support, education and trauma-informed programs designed to strengthen families, restore dignity and help women move forward in safety and strength.
We are not a crisis service or emergency housing provider. We work alongside existing services to ensure women and children are not left to navigate the aftermath of violence alone.
-
We deeply empathise with your situation. Unfortunately we're unable to provide direct support to individuals outside of Australia. Domestic and family violence laws, legal processes and support systems differ significantly from country to country, so we recommend contacting local domestic violence support services or helplines in your area for advice specific to your location. We're also unable to assist with visas or immigration matters.
-
Our services are designed specifically to support women and children who have experienced domestic and family violence. At this time we're not able to offer direct support to men, and we encourage men seeking help to contact services equipped to support them.

Getting Support
-
We are not a crisis service and do not provide emergency or crisis accommodation. Our Community Centre is designed to support women and children after the immediate crisis has passed, focusing on long-term recovery, rebuilding stability and helping families move forward once safety has been established.
If you are in immediate danger or need emergency accommodation, please contact local crisis services who are equipped to provide urgent support. Once you are safe, our centre may be able to support you with ongoing guidance, community connection, programs and practical support as you rebuild.
-
While we're unable to provide legal advice or act as your lawyer, we can help by outlining general legal options and connecting you with trusted, recommended firms in your area. Once free legal assistance is available through our Community Centre, you'll also be able to book an appointment directly with the service.

There are so many ways to support our work, whether you're near or far.
If you're local, visit our Volunteer page and complete the online form to register your interest. If you're a trained professional, such as a counsellor, psychologist, social worker, lawyer or community support worker, we especially encourage you to apply. We rely on skilled, values-aligned professionals to help us provide safe, trauma-informed support.
You can also support us through financial donations or partnerships. Every dollar helps women and children rebuild safe, healthy lives after domestic and family violence.
And one of the most powerful things you can do is share our work. Following, sharing and amplifying our message on social media helps reach women who may be looking for support and builds awareness in the wider community.
Every action, big or small, helps survivors move from leaving to healing.
